Press one button to turn it on and off. Press a second button to select the type of meat being cooked (i.e. beef, chicken, pork, etc.) then press a third button to select the doneness (well, medium, rare, etc.). This barbecue Fork Thermometer will then tell you the degrees needed to reach the doneness selected based upon the meat selected.
When the temperature of the meat reaches your custom pre-set temperature, the fork will beep. If the temperature has not reached that level yet, the fork will indicate the actual temperature of the meat.
